Mentor (Champion) Eligibility Requirements
Mentor/Champion Eligibility Requirements: All prospective mentors must meet the requirements.
Mentor/Champion Code of Conduct: All prospective mentors must read and sign the Code of Conduct.
Mentor/Champion Survey Questions: All prospective mentors must take the survey and answer the questions.
Mentor/Champion Identification Verification: All prospective mentors must show a Photo ID.
Mentor/Champion Interview: All prospective will do an interview and must have video enabled.
New Champion Training: All prospective mentors will go through the online training.
Background Check: All prospective mentors will go through a background check in order to be a TalentDreams Champion.
Mentor/Champion Holds Harmless Agreement: All prospective mentors must sign the Holds Harmless agreement.
New Champion Orientation: All mentors will go through our orientation before they are activated in our system to be a mentor.
Time Commitment: Prospective mentors have the time to commit to training, orientation, and mentoring at least once a year while part of the TalentDreams program.
Professional: Positive, successful experiences in the areas they are mentoring others in.
Empathy or understanding: The ability and willingness to relate to mentees’ experiences.
Non-Judgmental: Mentor/Champion allows the mentee to talk without giving advice or personal, judgemental opinions.
Communication skills & Adaptability: Ability to be open, listen actively, ask engaging questions, and clearly reflect what the mentee has said and adjust communication based on the individual needs of the mentee.
Goal-setting: Supporting mentees in discovering goals (career, training, social skills, hobbies, etc.). Encouraging mentees to develop plans to achieve those goals.
Confidentiality: The mentor must maintain privacy in all discussions with mentees.
